CAMEO WATCH! In one of Sporkman biggest cameos (if not THE biggest cameo), Michael Poe inexplicably gave him an awesome spot in “Exploitation Now” on August 30, 2000. I loved this cameo so much that I printed it out and stuck it to the cover of my three-ring binder. It stayed there until I graduated high school a year later. I mentioned it to him a few weeks ago, here in 2013, and he just said that, hey, I was a helpful and generally good dude back then, even if my comics were weak. So that’s nice. Poe is pretty bitchin’ himself.
At the time, I recall hearing people say that Poe drew Sporkman as too “feminine,” whatever THAT means. I personally LOVED the way he looked, and Poe’s slender, perhaps even girly-looking, Sporkman heavily influenced the way I eventually ended up drawing the character to this day.

Man, Illiaid’s so cool, even as cliche as he’s being in the last panel I still can’t help but love him.
